Make up competition

Well, last night was bit of a blast from the past! For I was back in a college environment, judging the current make up students end of year gala, having been the nervous teacher backstage only the year before.

It was lovely to have the shoe on the other foot, and see the talents of the next generation at Wirral Metropolitan College.

With a theme of ‘Queens‘, inspired by the Cunards 175th anniversary trip to Liverpool, the students took this idea to the max. Zombie Queen Elizabeth anyone?!

Joined by MAC’s Tom McHugh and fellow salon make- up artist, Karen Quirk, we set out on the hard task of choosing two worthy winners. With the overall winner joining Robyn and I at The Rouge School for a 1-2-1 training session.

After much deliberation our winners were announced-

Mandy Knight’s ‘Evil Snow Queen‘ and Lindsey Skelly’s ‘Queen Ravenna‘ pipped their fellow students to the post and took the top prizes, with Lindsey being rewarded with our bespoke training session.

It was brilliant to see the students talents up close and watch the stars of the future!
