Life proof lipstick? Introducing MAC Retro Matte Lipstick.

The red lipstick obsession continues…

As if I don’t have enough already, this season I’ve added three more rich reds to my overflowing collection. A girl can never have too much choice when it comes to her pout- that’s my reply and I’m sticking to it.

MAC’s ‘Diva Antics’ has been my signature slick over the festive period, the deep, plummy tone and comical name was perfect for those warm evenings of bridezilla planning. But, now I have my hands on two new beauties.

Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolours are the latest offering from MAC (I know, I’m an addict) and are available in a wide range of 15 shades, including nudes, pinks and a great selection of reds.

They claim- “Long-wearing,  Colour wears evenly and smoothly, lasting eight hours” complete with a tear duct shaped applicator, ideal for applying your lipstick straight from the tube leaving no need for lip liner.

I’ve been sporting blue-toned red ‘Dance with Me‘ and the pillar box ‘Feels so Grand’ for around 3 weeks now, and I must admit, I’m impressed. Kiss proof, food proof, drink proof and long day at work proof. The only thing it doesn’t stand up against is my 1 year old nephew- who decided to smudge my perfect lip all over my face during his birthday celebrations… But then that’s the birthday boy prerogative!

Personally, I still like to use a lip liner to achieve a crisp, bold outline. I also find taking the bulk of product off the applicator helps to avoid a build up. Apply a little, adding more until you are happy with your finish.

Voila! Perfect red lips all day through!
